Taisa Formenti

Master's Level Intern

Taisa Formenti is currently a Master’s Level Intern completing her Graduate Degree in Counseling with a specialty in Marriage, Couple, and Family from Southern Methodist University. She holds a Degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Political Science from The University of Texas at Dallas. Her formal undergraduate and graduate education, clinical experience, and five years of transferable skills in another client service industry has prepared her to counsel couples, families, adults, adolescents, and groups. Taisa is a facilitator for Prepare & Enrich® to support pre engagement, pre marriage, and seasoned couples.  She utilizes other relational tools such as Safe Conversations® and experiential modalities.  Taisa is also trained in NeurOptimal® neurofeedback.  Taisa is bilingual in English and Portuguese.

Taisa believes our experiences impact our behaviors, beliefs, values, personality, and self-esteem. Often, these experiences can hinder our ability to achieve desired growth, stemming from a lack of coping strategies, self-trust, and understanding of our past and present circumstances. Taisa is passionate about instilling hope and compassion in counseling sessions to empower clients to discover their inner strength and achieve the growth they desire. She also enjoys assisting couples and families to explore new avenues of communication and connection, especially when current methods are no longer effective.

Taisa believes that fostering a strong therapeutic relationship requires trust, compassion, curiosity, honesty, and hope. Through this foundation, she assists clients in understanding their experiences, enhancing self-compassion and self-esteem, gaining insight into their thought patterns and assumptions, and improving self-awareness to encourage overall wellbeing and fulfillment. Her areas of interest include self-esteem, relational counseling (Family, partners, friends, or co-workers), bicultural struggles, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and women’s issues.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, the “No Surprises Act,” health care providers are required to give clients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use their insurance an estimate of the bill for health care items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) showing costs of items and services you can reasonably expect for your health care needs. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute the bill.

  • You may contact the health care provider listed to let them know the billed charges are higher than the GFE. You may ask them to update the bill to match the GFE, negotiate the bill, or ask if financial assistance is available.
  • You may start a dispute resolution process with the U.S.Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days of the date on the original bill.
