Nabila Alharith

Master's Level Intern

Nabila Alharith is a graduate student in Southern Methodist University’s Counseling Program, currently working toward completion of her master’s degree in counseling. Her counseling skills are complemented by her undergraduate degree in psychology. Nabila earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Alongside her academic training, she has volunteered as a domestic violence hotline worker, where she supported individuals experiencing emotional crises and strengthened her understanding of trauma-informed care.

Nabila sees each person as shaped by their emotions, relationships, and life experiences. She believes that many emotional and psychological challenges stem from difficulties in understanding, accepting, and regulating emotions. In sessions, she works alongside clients to explore how these elements influence their lives, helping them reconnect with their emotions and develop skills to manage and regulate them. With warmth and understanding, Nabila supports clients in recognizing patterns, making sense of their experiences, and transforming emotional challenges into opportunities for growth. She strives to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients can develop healthier emotional habits, build self-compassion, and move toward their personal goals.

Nabila works with adolescents, adults, couples, and groups. She is passionate about supporting clients who are navigating relational challenges, experiencing intense emotions (such as grief, depression, anxiety, and stress), and going through major life transitions. She has completed coursework in trauma-informed care and psychological first aid, preparing her to support individuals who have experienced trauma through compassionate crisis intervention and trauma-informed approaches. Nabila is also trained in NeurOptimal® neurofeedback and Safe Conversations®, and she is a certified facilitator for Prepare & Enrich®, providing guidance and support for couples at all stages from pre-engagement and pre-marital to long-term partnerships.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, the “No Surprises Act,” health care providers are required to give clients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use their insurance an estimate of the bill for health care items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) showing costs of items and services you can reasonably expect for your health care needs. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute the bill.

  • You may contact the health care provider listed to let them know the billed charges are higher than the GFE. You may ask them to update the bill to match the GFE, negotiate the bill, or ask if financial assistance is available.
  • You may start a dispute resolution process with the U.S.Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days of the date on the original bill.
